Copper Foil Stained Glass Workshop - Saturday 17th January 2026

Copper foiling is ideal for more delicate and less heavy designs, allowing smaller pieces to be used. Join tutor Sharon for a fun day and leave at the end of the workshop with a beautiful copper foiled stained glass suncatcher.

Using the Tiffany method of copper foiling, you will taught the process of copper foiling on a practise piece before moving on to your final piece.

After a short health & safety briefing, you will learn:
- how to prepare and cut glass
- how to apply an adhesive backed copper tape known as foiling
- burnishing and fluxing
- how to solder pieces together
- finishing and polishing

You will have the option of adding small rings to be able to hang your piece if you wish.

This workshop is aimed at beginners and those who have had some previous experience and are looking to expand their knowledge.

Cost: £80 – includes all materials, tea & coffee, and biscuits.
Bring: a packed lunch.

NOTE: Customers must wear closed toe shoes as you will be using sharp tools and hot soldering irons. For these reasons there is an age limit of over 18s only, and this unfortunately is not suitable for pregnant women due to the lead based solder used.

About the tutor: Sharon of Maybug Studio has been one of our regular tutors for a few years now and teaches Copper Foiling, Leaded glass, Lanterns and her new Tiffany lamp workshop. Sharon is also our Pyrography tutor.

The venue is a ground-floor accessible venue with plenty of free parking.
