Full Event Information

In this workshop. you will learn different sculpture techniques using wire including joining and tool knowledge to basic/medium levels.

After receiving various demos and guidance with planning you will sculpt using tools to create 4 different types of foliage. Then you will go on to create 2-4 focus flowers.

Laura will guide you from start to finish to create a beautiful arrangement to take home. You will have the opportunity to display them in a glass bottle (bring your own if you have one) or set them in a box frame.

No experience is necessary, just come along for a fun day and learn a new skill that you will be able to take away and create more at home!

Suitable for beginners, minimum age 16+.

Artist Bio.
I am a wire artist creating pieces inspired by the natural world in particular flowers. I make a selection of wire sculptures in box frames where I like to combine them with driftwood or crystals. My work ranges from decorative pieces to one off commissions. I love to take long walks in the countryside capturing the next inspiration through photography, then back to the desk to begin drawing and planning my next piece. Using the skills I’ve learnt throughout a varied art/teaching career I like to achieve fluid and minimal designs celebrating natural forms in its purist way through wire.

Cost: £50 per person to include wire, use of tools, tea & coffee.

Please bring: lunch, flat/round nose/cutting pliers if you have them and a narrow top vessel if you have one. If you would like to display your flowers in a box frame Laura will show you how to achieve the best display. Box frames and bottles are optional and can be purchased from the tutor on the day.

Cancellation deadline: 13th October
