Full Event Information

If you are new to Indian Wooden Block Printing or wanting a refresher then this workshop is perfect for you.

Discover the ancient art of block printing using hand carved wooden blocks made in rural India by skilled artisans. Block printing can be used to create designs on bags, soft furnishing, clothing, lampshades, paper and more.

Choosing from a large selection of blocks you will learn how to experiment with colour and design, how to use two colours, and how to create repeat patterns on your sampler piece of fabric. Once you are ready to move on you will print a fabric item and some stationary. If you prefer a larger fabric item such as an apron or cushion cover these are available at an extra cost payable on the day (cushion inners are also available).

Suitable for age 10+, all children under 16 years must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Cost: £25 - includes all materials, tea, coffee & juice

- Fabric item - Tote Bag
- Choose an alternative item such as a Cushion Cover, Napkins or an Apron all subject to availability. Extra cost payable on the day.

NOTE: Please wear old clothing and bring an apron - fabric paint will mark your clothing.

Please note: the Craft Barn is an old stone barn and is accessed via external stone steps with handrails but unfortunately is not suitable for those with mobility issues. The toilet is located in another building.
